Hello

What's up everyone!

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything, and the decision to return to this little space of mine has only been made after much pondering and some reluctance. Why the hesitance, you might ask? Because my life has been pretty mundane of late, with me working round the clock (nearly) everyday at the student care centre and giving tuition lessons. Basically, my only day off is every Saturday, which is when I spend the entire day out. I've found myself barely having time to myself, much less for others. I'm getting quite drained of this lifestyle, and so I've more or less made up my mind to quit my job teaching at the centre come end May. As much as I would love to see my students through the year and watch them promote to P2s, 3s and 4s, I know I won't be able to and most certainly my stay has to end somewhere. I guess it's time I get some fresh air, especially after rushing out all the uni applications over the past two weeks or so.

In the midst of the post-As 8-months break which is unfortunately, passing by really quickly, I figured that I should go get a breather and thoroughly enjoy the last few months of my break. I'll be finding a new job, hopefully something flexible in which I don't have to work 5 days a week (any recommendations?). In addition, I want to take time off to go back to school for trainings, because I haven't had many chances to with my tight work schedule. I would also love to take this chance to go on travel adventures but my parents would certainly not agree to it, sad to say. So in the meantime, I think I'll let out some of my excess adrenaline and wanderlust by hopping all around Singapore (whenever I can).

On a side note, this year, I've introduced myself to the world of cosmetics and skincare. Frankly speaking I'm one of those girls who spent the majority of her teenage hood never bothering about how these make-up products work. I also only started wearing contact lenses when I was 16 years old, which then became an everyday-thing throughout my JC years till present. Growing up, the only time I would come in contact (literally) with such products would be stage make-up for any stage performances such as Literature Night, or during Prom Night two years ago. (I know, I'm such a noob.) And all the way till last year, I was just making do with my mom's cosmetics. Till today, I'm not sure what got me to jump on the bandwagon but right now I would say that I am way more accustomed with and interested in this aspect of beauty now than ever before. Though I've started to wear make-up, most of the time I only apply concealer, fill my brows and put on lipstick (on days when I go to work). On my off days when I head out, I'll have either eyeliner/mascara. Pretty simple, still. Oh! Just to side track a little - recently I've found myself falling in love with the colour white. Last week, I got a white V-neck lace playsuit from Lovet online! I really love the lace details as it adds so much class to a simple casual romper. Rompers are also very versatile, which makes it a must-have in every girl's wardrobe! I've been shopping online for all sort of white clothes quite a lot lately and today, I received my third parcel in a week. In my opinion, white clothes would look better on people with tanned skin tone like me and perhaps that's why I've started getting more white clothing.

Anyway, amidst my busy work schedule, I've also recently started my driving lessons! I found myself really stoked for my first lesson, though I didn't quite know what to expect. Yesterday, I had my second lesson and am proud to say that I am now quite confident of driving around (and changing gears without any assistance!) so, yay. My next lesson has been scheduled this coming Friday and I've got to admit, I'm really psyched for it!

Ending this post off really abruptly with a photo of a lovely box of Ferrero Rocher given to me by one of my students in class. It was extremely heartwarming and pleasant receiving this little surprise that came really unexpectedly :'-)

P.S. Sorry for this really wordy post, I promise I'll learn to do better in future! More visuals next time.

With lots of love,
Shermaine
