Chapter V

First day of school. A new chapter, a new beginning. As I move forward to a new phase of my life, a bittersweet feeling overwhelms me. After a long 8 months holiday, I guess it really is time for me to start a new life in university. I don't feel prepared at all, but what lies ahead of me excites me, and as ironic as it may sound, I am actually quite ready to face those challenges ahead of me. It's 00:57AM and I'm typing this on my laptop in hall. I would say I am more or less tuned in to hall life. Although I do miss my family, I actually look forward to the weekends even more, or lets just say, Friday, because that's when I'll see them again. This is probably the first time I'm away from home, apart from the one time when I was 15, at Cambodia for 10 days doing CIP. Apart from that, I don't think I've ever been away from home, excluding those mandatory camps that I had to attend over the past few months. But I digress. Pardon my messy train of thoughts. I am merely typing out whatever that comes to my mind right now. So first day of school for almost everyone, isn't the first day of school for me. In NUS, we don't have tutorials for the first two weeks of school - just lectures. And for me, I have planned out a timetable for Sem1 in which I have a day off, so I only have a 4-day work week. I only have tutorials on Tuesdays, so that means I had no school on the official first day of school. This morning, I went to UTown with Stef and we got some groceries before I headed back to hall. So basically I spent nearly the entire day in hall on my laptop doing everything... and nothing. It's sort of my comfort zone and my nest (LOL) because I'm just so lazy to travel around school because walking from venue to venue is already a chore. I don't have school on Wednesdays, so later, I'm going to go all the way to the East for driving lesson, then head back home for lunch with my parents, before going out to give tuition again, and then go for my dental appointment, and afterwards, head back to NUS for Star2Burst, some event in KR where freshies audition to perform. Sadly I have no performing arts talent, so I've always been inclined towards sports. Speaking of sports, the IBG starts this Saturday! I'm still contemplating going for the floorball IBG this Sunday, because, well, it's a Sunday. And I won't be going back to hall on Sunday because I already have my driving test scheduled on Monday morning, so that means it would be pretty pointless for me to go to hall when I have to be in the East again the following morning. But I'm honestly pretty hyped up for the upcoming events in the next few weeks, I can't wait to settle down into uni life and discover something more about myself. I guess it's time for me to get a shut eye since I'll have to be up early later, so, toodles, and till next time.
